Samsung DIGImax 800k
Linux drivers
-
Version 1.1
-
gphoto drivers which should work against both 0.4.3 and gphoto 2 - to
install these untar this
file in the top level gphoto directory (ie the directory which contains
the samsung directory) and recompile gphoto. You might want to backup samsung/samsung.c
which is the only file which changes. This adds support for thumbnails
on the later models of this camera.
-
if you use the thumbnails feature, then you must either use
it every time you start gphoto, or power cycle the camera between uses,
it is impossible to get full pictures out of the camera until you read
the thumbnails once thumbnails mode has been used. (That might make more
sense with this example:
-
Download thumbnails, quit gphoto, download image 3 will fail
-
Download thumbnails, quit gphoto, power cycle camera, download
image 3 will work.
-
Download thumbnails,quit gphoto,download thumbnails,get image
3 will work.
-
Stand-alone program with thumbnails comming soon... (use

-
Version 1.0
-
gphoto drivers (these
are now included in the main distribution, so are of historical interest
only) can be got by downloading this
file.
-
command line drivers...
this
is a standalone command line program for linux which syncs the cameras
images against the current directory. The program checks to see if the
file has already been downloaded by comparing the file size.
